Bottle/Tap: Bottle
The name of this beer says it all. I really like Redhook; they are one of my favorite breweries to visit, and you can’t go wrong with their beers. A few weeks ago we had been visiting friends and as I looked through their beer fridge I noticed this brew was laying down, so picked one up. Slim Chance, I thought, slim chance of what? I cracked it open and took a healthy swig.
I was glad that I didn’t read the label beforehand because I would have put it right back. This was a light beer, and I don’t...

My best friend always has enjoyed a Fuzzy Navel as a cocktail. For me it used to be too sweet and too peachy. As life can be, some things change, and some things stay the same. For example, I now enjoy cocktails that are peach in flavor, but I still don't like drinks that are overly sweet.
After dinner last night, my husband and I thought a cocktail would be a nice way to end our workdays. Sure, I could have made something from our usual repertoire, be it a dirty martini for him or a Vodka and Tonic Restyled...

I always can go for a new fruit beer. Often I like to compare brands and see what other brewers do differently as I am always on the look out for something new. We are having our first week of high temperatures for the summer. With a few days of temps near or over 90, it has been quite hot in New England. While the kids have been busy keeping cool with dips in the pool and ice cream for dessert, there have been different approaches for the adults.
Unfortunately for us, afternoons are spent working instead of floating in the pool. However, we do have the luxury of central air, so there shouldn't be too much pity for us. In the evenings while the kids enjoy a dish of chilling ice cream, my...

We spent an evening with friends a while back, and as the girls were busy making strawberry jam, the guys were watching Deadwood, ordering Chinese food, and enjoying libations. Hard work, I know. One such beverage I had was this blueberry ale from Paper City Brewing in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Our friends had picked up a six on a recent trip to upstate New York, and this was their last bottle. I opted to drink it, and to my surprise, they were ready to see it go. Neither one enjoyed this beer and wanted it out to make room for...
