Beer Review: Sierra Nevada, Kellerweis

I like beers that come with instructions.  On the label of this beer it tells you to pour ¾ of the bottle into a glass, swirl the bottle and pour the rest on top.  If you haven’t guessed already, this is a hefeweizen.  Hefeweizens are one of my favorite beer styles for the summer: unfiltered, hazy appearance and a light bitter taste.  Kellerweis scores on all levels. Honeydew on the Rocks

Summer has been slow to arrive, finally we have temperatures near 90 and lots of humidity, which means that a lot of people now are complaining that it's too hot.  Go figure!  These are the same people that were complaining that it was too cold and rainy for the first half of the summer. (more...)

Beer Review: Hook and Ladder Brewing Co., Golden Ale

Earlier last week there was a fire in southern New Hampshire.  It was a raging inferno consuming most of Merrimack.  Thankfully, there was a golden ale on hand to douse the flames and keep everything under control.  Yes, it was hot last week, and I might have been on fire, but sometimes the right beer can really quell your thirst.
