Eco-friendly wine appears to be one of the hot trends in wine today. According to Paul Gregutt, at the SeattleTimes.com wine is a “fashion-driven business.” It is easy to see that wine would have trends, just as fashion does. Gregutt states that wine is also “entertainment” and must compete for the consumers’ entertainment – a thought-provoking idea. We can see how Gregutt would believe this, as wine and food trends come in and come out, just as other popular culture trends take off or fizzle out. The latest one appears to be eco-friendly wines.

Now women have even more reason to enjoy that glass of Merlot or favorite Chablis with their dinner. It can help keep them skinny! The NYDailyNews.com shares the news of a study from the Archives of Internal Medicine. The study included 19,220 women who were 38 years of age or older. All were followed for 12.9 years on average. In this study, 41.3% of the women did become either overweight or obese, but the women who did drink gained approximately 3.5 lbs as compared to the non-drinking women who gained 8 lbs.
