Bruichladdich Octomore 02.2 Orpheus: That’s a Mouthful!

by Jason Lightner on December 29th, 2010 | Liquor
We begin our journey at a smoky glass desk, where sprawled out before us lies a box with two jars in it. The box comes courtesy of Master of Malt, a company specializing in the retail distribution of whisky. Printed on the side of this box is a quote in an Olde English font.

"Too much of anything is bad, but too much of good whiskey is barely enough." - Mark Twain

We couldn't agree more. We like nothing else than to enjoy a good glass of whisky, and to listen to some Dust Brothers. Sitting before us

Full Sail Brewing, Wassail

The Ginger Dazzle from Kilimanjaro Foods, Inc. was the winning cocktail from our New Year's Eve cocktail contest.  It was a tough choice with ten excellent recipes that had flavorful ingredients and beautiful garnishes.  When the votes were tallied,

Brewer’s Best Friend

by J Frazzetta on December 20th, 2010 | Beer
Our friends at Smithwick’s Brewing were nice enough to send me an early Christmas present: a 5 gallon brewing kit.  If you’ve been reading my posts for the last year, you know that I have experimented with home brewing using a Mr. Beer kit and I’ve had some pretty good results.  Well, now I’m stepping up from the minors and this kit is going to help me.

Smithwick’s Brewing is celebrating 300 years of the brewing tradition and to show their appreciation to the process of making beer, they sent out kits to some lucky folks with one simple hitch: go
