Ithaca Beer Co., Apricot Wheat

by J Frazzetta on February 28th, 2011 | Beer
Bottle/Tap: Bottle

I know what you’re thinking and I don’t care: it is never too early to be thinking about spring/summer beers.  Trust me, if you live in the frigid north, AKA New Hampshire, you’d be bathing in spring ales if it meant the weather would warm up.  Not that I haven’t considered it and if I did I would never tell you folks.  To say the least, this week I dug up a wheat beer that I had for a while and have been meaning to taste.

After chilling the beer and pouring it in a glass I noticed the

Laphroaig Quarter Cask: Return to Islay

by Jason Lightner on February 25th, 2011 | Liquor
Good day to you, esteemed reader! It's been some time since we last visited our good friend Laphroaig and today we will remedy that. You see, I've missed the ol' chap dearly and I can't even begin to tell you what a pleasure it will be to reminisce with him again. For this, we will journey to the isle of Islay, Scotland.

The drink itself was mentioned in some writings by Chaucer.  Being the literary type,

The High-Roller

by Michele on February 21st, 2011 | Margaritas
As we announced last week, tomorrow is National Margarita Day. If you're planning on celebrating at home, we have another margarita suggestion.

Although we all have our go-to recipes or margarita mixes, sometimes it is fun to give a new recipe a try.  If you're looking for something a little more elegant, The High-Roller may be the drink for you.  Made with Grand Marnier instead of triple sec and Cuervo Reserva de la Familia, you have a margarita that transforms this beverage from an everyday classic to an elegant cocktail.

A great margarita and some tasty dishes, such as nachos or

Turtle Creek Winery

by Michele on February 18th, 2011 | Wine
The Boston Wine Expo can be an overwhelming event to attend, with hundreds of wineries and more than one thousand varieties available.  However, even with numbers as large as that, there are individual wineries that shimmer and stand out like a bright star on a clear winter night.  One of those wineries is Turtle Creek Winery in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Turtle Creek Winery was not the biggest or oldest of the wineries in attendance.  In fact, the winery was established in 1998, and today produces approximately one thousand cases each year.  What makes this winery unique is their persistence in
