Life and Limb

In a few weeks the holiday season will be well under way; wait a second, scratch that. Let’s be honest, Avid Reader; the holidays were here before the vampires and ghosts came to ask for candy. For some reason Christmas starts in September and Thanksgiving is lucky if it gets a week or more on the shelves. Despite all of that, there will be plenty of times for family and friends to come together in harmony to share company with each other. At least we all hope that will happen. To celebrate this time of year I found a

Hello there, Avid Reader, I hope you’re doing well today. This week I’m going to review a few beers that I happened to sample before taking in a show a few weekends ago. The side of Boston the show is on will determine the bar we venture into. This time we headed to the Sunset Cantina which is a satellite of the more infamous Sunset Grill a ways down the road. This was an evening of firsts and lasts, mark my words. Let me tell you about it.

Summer might be over but there is still one beer in my fridge that needs to be drunk! In a few weeks it might be time to break out a heavier coat, and for that reason I wanted to cap off the summer with one last festive brew. I can always be persuaded to drink a beer with some fruit flavor to it, and I thought it would be a good idea to add peach to my list of fruit flavored beers. Paired up with some coconut crusted haddock, I was ready to give this one a whirl.

There are times that it pays to have extras on hand and this is one of those times. Earlier in the week I thought about a beer to review and, wouldn’t you know, I’d already reviewed it some time ago. Rather than dwell on the past, I found a stray bottle of this coffee concoction that I wanted to give a little more attention to. You might remember this beer from a few weeks ago, Avid Reader, as one of our coffee sampling beers. I didn’t think the few lines I wrote about it did it

And Now for Something Different: Pearl Jam Faithfull Ale
by Jason Lightner December 30th, 2011 | Beer
Greetings and salutations, folks!
If there's one thing I like more on any given day than a good drink, it's good music. Imagine my delight, then, when I was strolling through Beltway the other day, perusing the aisles for some festive favors and came across this – Dogfish Head Pearl Jam Faithfull Ale (yes, the spelling is correct). As a celebration of two important milestones in music, the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam, and the release of their hit record Ten, Dogfish Head's latest offering is a treat for both beer and music lovers alike.
