O3 Margarita

by Michele on May 26th, 2011 | Cocktails, Margaritas
A few weeks ago, I was offered a sample of O3 from DeKuyper.  Marketed as a premium orange liqueur made from the rind, pulp, and juice of Brazilian Pera oranges, it sounded quite tasty.  Between the fine description and my enjoyment of homemade margaritas, how could I resist such an offer?

The O3 arrived, and the bottle itself was quite attractive.  A rectangular, amber-colored bottle with a nice weight to it, it would look beautiful on a bar shelf.  The weekend couldn't come soon enough to give this liqueur a try.

Combined with tequila, lemon juice, and seltzer (for us weaker drinkers),

The High-Roller

by Michele on February 21st, 2011 | Margaritas
As we announced last week, tomorrow is National Margarita Day. If you're planning on celebrating at home, we have another margarita suggestion.

Although we all have our go-to recipes or margarita mixes, sometimes it is fun to give a new recipe a try.  If you're looking for something a little more elegant, The High-Roller may be the drink for you.  Made with Grand Marnier instead of triple sec and Cuervo Reserva de la Familia, you have a margarita that transforms this beverage from an everyday classic to an elegant cocktail.

A great margarita and some tasty dishes, such as nachos or

Watermelon and Apple Margarita

by Michele on February 16th, 2011 | Cocktails, Margaritas
February is a month filled with small, yet memorable, holidays.  From Groundhog Day to Valentine's Day to Presidents' Day, we recognize each to varying degrees.  Obviously, out of those three Valentine's Day is the biggest.  Other the past few weeks we provided two different cocktail recipes to use for that holiday.  Neither Groundhog Day nor Presidents' Day have garnered any cocktail love, but there is a new-to-me holiday that will be receiving a recipe in its honor- National Margarita Day.

Seriously, this is a holiday that is being recognized on February 22nd.  Being a Tuesday, it may or may not be

Margarita Magic

by TJ Davis on August 4th, 2010 | Cocktails, Margaritas
The heat of summer is no match for a cool cocktail, especially one with the salt and citrus smoothness of a margarita. With so many different flavors and variations on the recipe, what do you choose? That's easy! You can never go wrong with the original. A truly authentic margarita has only three ingredients: tequila, orange liquer, and fresh lime juice. Try a mixture of one shot Triple Sec or other orange liquer, one shot of freshly squeezed lime juice, and two shots of tequila. For myself, I forego the sweetness of the orange liquer and substitute the Triple

Fiery Fiesta Margarita

by Michele on May 14th, 2010 | Cocktails, Frozen Drinks, Margaritas
Yes, Cinco de Mayo has come and gone.  However, that doesn't mean that you can't allow the enjoyment of margaritas to continue, especially if you spent May 5th at a minor league baseball game and the most exciting beverage you had was hot coffee.  Seriously, once the sun set, it became quite chilly, and this fan was quite happy that there was piping hot coffee available to warm her!

Normally I am not a huge fan of frozen drinks; they're simply too filling.  However, on a warm weekend afternoon, they make the perfect indulgence.  What could be a better way to
