As my daughter pointed out to me today, I've had a bit of a pear fetish lately.  I've made pear vinaigrette and wine poached pears and have included slices in my wraps.  So, continuing on this same thread, I decided to create a pear cocktail.  Instead of using a pear liqueur for flavoring, I thought I'd try my hand at making a pear-flavored simple syrup.

Mango Cocktail

Every Monday night, my husband and I enjoy a quiet dinner for two,  even though we have four children.  As he has a late meeting and Monday is my busy day at the office, we dine around 8:30 or 9:00.  While it means waiting to eat, it is well worth it for candlelight and conversation for two.

Sparkling Celebration Cocktail

I always prefer my cocktails and martinis to be lighter and fruit-based.  Recently, I have enjoyed the addition of bubbles to my beverages.  The addition of prosecco or champagne makes a drink lighter and seemingly more fun.

Looking at our sister site, Tasty Thoughts, I found the recipe for the New Year's Eve cocktail that I created last December.  As the holiday season has begun, it seemed a good time to share this sparkling recipe with Parched No More readers.
