Cranberry Cooler
By Michele December 4, 2008 3:23 pm

Last Thursday, my husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving with another couple who are our best friends.  It was an all-day event that started just before noon and ended minutes before Black Friday began.  Among all of the eating, we enjoyed a few beverages.

Being Turkey Day, I wanted to have a festive drink to accompany our dishes.  With cranberries practically synonymous with Thanksgiving, it seemed like a perfect taste to incorporate.  An added benefit is that it would be perfect in a light drink.  With all of the food we had for the day, we wouldn’t want a drink that was heavy or creamy.

Although my girlfriend and I usually drink fruity martinis, this drink seemed better served over ice.  However, I wouldn’t encourage using straws for this drink.  With its light taste and bubbly consistency, one might forget its alcohol content and drink it like soda!

Cranberry Cooler

2 oz. cranberry-infused vodka

2 oz. cranberry juice (not cocktail)

2 oz. cranberry-flavored ginger ale

Fill a highball glass with ice.  Add ingredients, and mix well.  Garnish with cranberries or a sprig of mint.

Enjoy!

I found cranberry ginger ale, both diet and regular, at the grocery store.
