Greetings and salutations, folks!
If there's one thing I like more on any given day than a good drink, it's good music. Imagine my delight, then, when I was strolling through Beltway the other day, perusing the aisles for some festive favors and came across this – Dogfish Head Pearl Jam Faithfull Ale (yes, the spelling is correct). As a celebration of two important milestones in music, the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam, and the release of their hit record Ten, Dogfish Head's latest offering is a treat for both beer and music lovers alike.
I know what you're saying...

Dueling Pumpkins

My last visit to the grocery store proved to be a fruitful trip indeed. One of my mainstays of the fall season was on the shelf, and I noticed a newcomer hanging around the patch as well. Since I’m a nice guy, I picked up a pack of each and brought them home to square off. I’ve sampled many indigenous pumpkin beers, and each year I try to get any new brews I come across.
For this occasion I busted out my sampling glasses and poured a few ounces in each to see how they both stacked up. In

Brew Masters

This week I’m approaching beer from a different angle: instead of drinking it I’m watching it on television. Thanks to the Discovery Channel and my DVR, I’m getting a chance to catch up on the five episodes of their show Brew Masters. These five episodes followed Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione while he and his team of merry folk brew some interesting beers and give you glimpse inside their secret lair. All I can say is: I wish I worked for Dogfish Head.
Each episode is themed after a different beer Sam decides to experiment with. You get

Beer Review: Dogfish Head, Pangaea

This is yet another mythological Dogfish Head beer that I happened to find in one of my local spots. I had heard about this beer before; I just never managed to locate it when it was in season. When I saw it I took the opportunity and dropped the cash. I split this bottle with a fellow beer drinker, and the two of us really enjoyed the complexity of this brew.
First, this beer is named after the super-continent Pangaea. I won’t bore you with the history, so you’ll have to do that on your own. The

WARNING! This beer is not to be taken lightly. If you are not a trained professional (like me?), please do not attempt to drink this beer by yourself. If you do happen to drink this by yourself, do not drink it all at once- trust me.
As the above warning states, this beer is a beast at 18%. The myth surrounding this brew was almost too good to resist, so when I found a bottle a few months ago I had to buy it. I had the beer in the fridge for a bit to cool, then let it stand
