Hello there, Avid Reader, you may remember my post from last week. Today we’re going to finish off the beers those fine folks at Breckenridge Brewery sent me to test out. I was looking forward to both of these beers and wanted to have them last to savor the anticipation. They did not disappoint.
I decided to go with Pandora’s Bock first, since the weather has been spring for almost a month and no one wants to admit it. Bock beers are a good traditional brew that, when done right, can be very impressive, and this beer is

Saranac, 12 Beers of Winter

Variety packs are a lot of fun when you want to get the most for your money. Of course this is also how a brewer will get you to try their new beer by lumping it in with a bunch of subpar brews in hopes that you won’t just drink that one beer you were looking for. I’m happy to report that is not the case here, avid reader. Instead, we are given two bottles of six different beers, and each one is sure to spread some holiday cheer this winter.

Bottle/Tap: Bottle
It must be October. You know what that means: time to start pouring out the dark beers. Or as we in the Northeast would say, ‘The dahk beers’. To kick things off right I decided to pull out this gem that I picked up over the summer. I’m no stranger to the brewing habits of Widmer Brothers and enjoy their lighter fare in the warmer weather. Seeing their take on an IPA intrigued me enough to pick up a bottle and do a little sampling. Part of me feels like I should have waited a few

Red ales can be a lot of fun, or they can be pretty dull and awful. Several weeks ago I picked up a variety of beers from other regions of the country I don’t ever visit, and this is another California transplant. I judged this on name, label and the fact that the bottle looked interesting. Well, it was a mild August evening; I had charred the chicken and pineapple to perfection on the grill and thought that a red ale would help to wash everything down. Boy, did it help.

Harpoon Summer Vacation Pack
by J Frazzetta on July 4th, 2011 | Beer
Now that I have a ‘real job’ that prohibits me from taking months of time off when the weather is warmer, I look for escape wherever I can find it and, in my quest to review variety packs for the masses, it seems that Harpoon can whisk me away to warmer climates and sunshine. Enough mumbo jumbo and let us get to the beer in my hand: this is a solid variety pack by one of my favorite brewers.
With four beers to try from I went with the newest brew: Bohemian Pilsner. I’m happy to report that this beer
