First we have Switchback, which I’ve had before in Burlington, Vermont, and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. According to our waiter, the beer is starting to make its way south and could appear in more bars in the area. That is great news since this is a solid pale ale. It reminds me of a #9 with a little bit of a blueberry flavor in there. There is a good hazy look in your glass, and it goes down very easily. I was pleased to discover this beer on their menu.

Next, Slick Nick from Sebago, Maine. This was a standard red ale with a really great color in the glass. At first taste the flavor is pretty strong and stays with you when it is cold from the tap. As it got warmer I noticed that the flavor was not as intense but became smoother to drink. I have a hard time with red ales, although I did enjoy this one. There was some bitter to it but not enough to make me regret picking it. The best part was that the flavor stayed throughout the entire glass.

There you have it folks, two beers in one post, and I finally made the trek back to the bar. I need to get back there more often, it seems like their tap selection has grown. So many beers, so little time, what is a fellow to do?
