After reviewing the Rodney Strong Sonoma Valley chardonnay recently, Michael and I decided to try another one of their chardonnays. This time, we picked the 2004 Rodney Strong Chalk Hill Chardonnay. It’s a little pricier than the Sonoma Valley varietal, but I justified the cost by planning on keeping the

One of the recurring jokes in HBO's faux noir-detective show Bored to Death is that its main character (played by Jason Schwartzman) has quit drinking - except for white wine, with its low alcohol content. The joke's punchline - that Schwartzman still swills through more than a bottle a day - belies the fact that white wine does actually have a bit less of a punch than its darker counterpart.
There are, of course, many reasons to drink wine - and the alcohol should not be the first, or even second, reason. There's the taste, of course, along with the refreshment,

Chardonnay is grown in virtually all wine-producing countries, which makes it the most popular – and diverse – varietal of wine. Since no two growing regions are similar, the results are a wine that varies dramatically from one producer to the next. Chardonnay can be sharp and woodsy or creamy and buttery, and it can be medium or full bodied; the result all depends on the region where the

Domaine Costa Lazaridi

Attending the Boston Wine Expo, I am fortunate to meet many interesting winemakers from near and far. One of the wineries of note was Domaine Costa Lazaridi, which is located in Greece. While visiting their booth, I was able to sample their Amethystos Red and Domaine Costa Lazaridi Syrah. Both of these reds were delicious and had a great depth of flavor.
After speaking with Chrissa Giatra, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, at the Expo, I discovered that Domaine Costa Lazaridi was more than just a winery. In addition to a vineyard and winery, they also have a reception area
